Our mission statementThe Mission of Zumbro Congregation is chiseled into the very structure of our building: "GOD HAS GIVEN US THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION." We accept this God-given challenge. We actively strive to achieve the personal growth, the organizational structure, and the programming that enables each of us and our congregation to fulfill this ministry. The Boldness and Power required to undertake our mission was initiated and is sustained by God. Bold letters in front of our worship area proclaim: GOD WAS IN CHRIST RECONCILING THE WORLD TO HIMSELF." The red band encircling all who worship at Zumbro symbolizes the fact that God accepts and trusts us. In turn, affirm by our membership in Zumbro that we accept and trust God. God accepts us as we really are at this time and every moment of our life. Therefore, individually and together, we strive to be accepting and supportive of others within and beyond the fellowship of our congregation. God trusts us to use his grace for spiritual growth and service. Therefore, We seek to design and engage in ministry that enhances reconciliation within this community and throughout the world; as well as within our congregation and among the whole people of God. We celebrate our acceptance of God in worship. We deepen our knowledge of God and increase our sensitivity to God's Presence, Gods' Desire, and God's Activity in our lives and in the lives of others by prayer and lifelong study. We trust God to continue his work in us and through us. We are confident that God's Desire for each of us, for this congregation, and for the whole created order shall be accomplished, eventually. |
