creating a place for all to belong in 2011

Zumbro's main focus for 2011 is creating a place for all to belong. Throughout the year, we will be striving to make our building, our worship, our outreach and our atmosphere more inviting and welcoming.

We create a place for all to belong as we ...
... provide ways for people of all ages to get to know each other better ...
... create an inviting atmosphere ...
... make an effort to help people feel welcome as soon as they walk through our doors ...
... spruce up the building so it looks as if we're preparing for guests to come ...
... train people to become more comfortable meeting and greeting people they don't know ...
... hold events that reach beyond our walls ...
... offer inspiring and welcoming worship experiences ...
... deepen our ties with the Dinka congregation ...
... develop a relationship with one of our neighborhood schools ...

Another way to reach out is to make a 2-Minute Connection after worship. That means that for the first two minutes after church ends, try to talk to someone you don't know. About what? How about starting with learning names ... if you don't know theirs, a simple, "Hi, I'm ..." is a great place to start. Or "I'm sorry, remind me of your name." Don't forget to wear your nametag to church to make it easier for other people to remember yours!
