Interfaith Hospitality Network

Zumbro Lutheran Church is a host site for the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Rochester (IHN). Our congregation will host IHN guests for the first time from May 15-22. Our partner host is Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC).  You are invited to participate as a volunteer. Many hands will be needed, and there are many ways to help. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families in need.

IHN is a network of volunteers from area faith communities who offer food and shelter to families who find themselves homeless. The mission of IHN is to help guest families achieve and sustain their independence.

The network operates 365 days a year and has room for 14 people. Host churches host families for a week at a time. Buddy and support churches supply volunteers to help serve the families.

To be a volunteer with IHN, training is required once every 3 years. During the training session, you will gain insight into why some area families have a need for this network, how it operates, and what we can do to best help our IHN guests. We hope you will prayerfully consider coming, and being part of a group that will volunteer a few hours during the weeks noted below.
