The music ministry of Zumbro Lutheran Church has been recognized throughout the area for its long-time tradition of music in worship that is done well, creative in musical styles, inclusive and inspiring, all to the glory of God.

Whether one is experienced in music or not, opportunities for involvement are abundant at Zumbro Lutheran Church and all are welcome to be a part of it!

Zumbro's Director of Music and Liturgy

Director of Music and Liturgy, Kristy Giere, came to Zumbro Lutheran Church as assistant to the director of music in 1992 after serving churches in Rochester, Fargo, North Dakota, and in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Today, Kristy serves as principal organist, directs a number of Zumbro’s handbell and instrumental ensembles, accompanies the Zumbro Lutheran Choir and helps plan worship in cooperation with the pastoral staff. Ms. Giere is a member of the American Guild of Organist and is a past dean of the Southeast Minnesota Chapter of the AGO. She is also a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.

Zumbro's Music Assistant

Ralph Schornack serves as Zumbro's part-time Music Assistant and substitute organist. Ralph also accompanies the Zumbro Choristers and the Dolce Children's Choir. He has many talents which include outstanding improvisational skills on the piano and a beautiful baritone singing voice.
