Zumbro Lutheran Choir

The Zumbro Lutheran Choir under the direction of Robert Giere, is a non-auditioned 60 voice mixed voice ensemble for high school and adult singers. Choir members rehearse Wednesday evenings September through May in the Choir Room from 7:00-8:30 p.m. with nursery services available.

The choir sings for worship regularly with one Sunday off per month and alternates between 8:30 and 11:00 worship hours. The choir leads in worship with inspiring and challenging repertoire, leads in the liturgies and presents major works in the fall and spring months with orchestral accompaniment. For nearly the last 30 years the choir has participated in the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the chapel of St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

The choir has recorded two CDs, Rise Up Shepherd, and Follow featuring Christmas selections and LUX, a recording of Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna and the premiere of K. Lee Scott’s The Suffering Servant (commissioned by a grateful Zumbro Lutheran member) as well as other sacred choral favorites. Zumbro Choristers

The Zumbro Choristers under the direction of Janette Reeves, is a choir for children and youth in grades 4 through 9. Rehearsals are Wednesdays  from 5:20-6:00 p.m. in the choir room. Zumbro Choristers sing for worship twice a month, usually at the 8:30 service and also present an annual musical  that is part of the worship service. The Choristers also participate in the annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at St. Marys Hospital Chapel. The Choristers sing a wide variety of musical styles and developing great friendships is a very important part of the musical experience.

 

Dolce Children’s Choir

The Dolce Children’s Choir under the direction of Janette Reeves, is a choir for children in kindergarten through grade 3. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:00-6:30 p.m. in the choir room. The Dolce Children’s Choir sing for worship once a month, usually at the 8:30 service.

 

Summer Worship Choir

Summer Worship Choir is open to all Zumbro members, regardless of age and choral experience. This informal choir sings for worship two or three times during the summer months. It is a great opportunity for non-choir members or families to try out singing in a choir without the long-term commitment.
