Today was Synod Day! Our Synod Day was located in our hotel so it allowed our group to sleep in and enjoy the pool and lazy river.
Synod Day is a unique community of Christ, gathering around word, meal, music and conversation with holy moments to reminded us that we belong together and are a part of something bigger!
The Theme for today at the Gathering is “God’s Grace Changes Everything” so our time together focused on that. Our Zumbro group served as worship leaders so they helped engage participants in a variety of activities, blessed participants and served communion.
Our SEMN Synod Bishop, Steve Delzer, shared a message during the worship, as well. As the event ended, we hope that participants will gain a deeper sense that God has, indeed, claimed them, that they matter and they have a place to belong.
SEMN had 1,100 participants at the Gathering, placing in 2nd place behind the SD Synod, for most participants at the Gathering. (There are 65 ELCA Synods)
The day ended with another amazing evening Mass Gathering at NRG Stadium! Nadia Bolz-Weber reminded everyone that Grace Changes Everything!!
