Joining a musical group is good for you!

Have you ever thought about joining one of Zumbro’s musical groups?

A 2019 study by Chorus America sheds new light on the positive impact of singing in choirs.

  • Nearly three-quarters of singers (73%) say that choral singing helps them feel less isolated or lonely.
  • Choral singers credit singing in a chorus with making them more optimistic, mindful, and resilient.
  • Chorus members credit singing with helping them be better collaborators. team players, and listeners.
  • Older choral singers are less likely than the general public to say they have challenges with cognitive abilities such as doing calculations in their heads, finding the right words to use, or organizing activities.

There is a wide variety of choirs and musical ensembles to join at Zumbro. Browse through this list of opportunities, and please contact Music Minister Kristy Giere if you are interested (contact information below).
