Today, I woke up and the first thing that crossed my mind was that I needed to drink a bunch of water. Not only was Texas extra hot today but I committed to donating blood. I was nervous because it was my first time donating, but I knew that I have wonderful friends on this trip that were going to be with me every step of the way.
As I was sitting in the chair waiting a someone to draw my blood, I couldn’t help but think about all the people that are going to be receiving this blood. Although I experienced some complications during my donation, I am so grateful God blessed me with the ability to give–to give part of my self to heal others with just 15 minutes of my time.
God is ever so evident this week in Houston, with the 30,000 plus youth and leaders all here united in God. Although the giving of blood drained me for a little while, we had a great time praising God with 1,000 others in mass cast during the evening Mass Gathering! I’m so thankful for the opportunity to be in Houston and to be serving God and helping others!
